Retail & Food Services Power Team

The Retail & Food Services Power Team was recently featured at the BNI KL West & South regional Entrepreneur’s Business Open Day where they shared how they work together to service their clients.

We are a team of business owners who work together with the focus on serving, building and enabling the retail and F&B sector. We help clients solve problems and also create opportunities for collaboration especially through the pandemic when it is crucial for survivability.

How we work together

Ever since its birth, the Retail & Food Services power team has made sure that it continues to service the current market to ensure relevance, flow of business opportunities, and pooling contacts together in order to provide a full circle experience.

We support each other by creating an ecosystem whereby everyone is able to contribute to and benefit from each other, through guidance, assistance and collaboration in our various areas of expertise and knowledge within the sector. This allows us to fully utilise collective benefit from each person’s strengths and fill in where we need assistance.

This helps the team scale its ability to cater and innovate better service and product offerings to current and potential clientele.

• Edwin – “Timothy and I completely transformed and upgraded Jaya Grocer Empire Subang within one month without any disruption to the daily operation. It’s one of our proudest projects to date.”

• Ken Woon – “To-date Jaya Grocer RNF Mall Johor Bahru was our highlight project. We completed 2 other outlets in JB but RNF Mall was special because the timeline of completion is much shorter. I personally went down and took measurements and made sure every size fits the place perfectly. Once the production team was done with printing, my installer team went down with my supervision making sure print is perfect. After a job well done we were called back after the grand opening for add-on jobs to beautify the place.”

• Cheryl – “Vernon and I worked together to test baked goods in eco friendly containers and now are able to supply my products in these eco friendly containers.”

• Vernon – “We are just about to kick off our Monkey Bites programme with Kenneth and Cheryl with support from Ken Woon on positioning the first eco centric group of different F&B business’s working hand in hand to provide food and dessert offerings with the environment in mind. The platform will also feature support towards the white flag communities and businesses and also support to those in need of groceries.”

• Vernon – “In the last two weeks since MCO 3.0 we decided to support those in need. So with the help of Ken Woon, Tim, and Edwin, we kicked off our first initiative to support the Beautiful Gate Foundation in SS2, to the Damansara Community with groceries for them to last the week, and finally cooked meals to the community in Mentari who were underprivileged and stuck as a result of the EMCO lockdown.”

• Shoban – “A big collaboration project with Tim that we worked on is with our client Blue Ice Skating Rink. We have built signages for 2 of their outlets so far including some very large led neon facades for their newest outlet in 163 Retail Park.”

• Kenneth – “Collaborated with our pastry chef, Cheryl for a catering event at a sales gallery property launch in KL. It was a Greek themed event with Greek bite sized food, desserts and greek mocktails for a total of 500 pax. Biggest collaboration so far. Took a total of 2 weeks only to plan and execute this successful event. In addition, I am planning to start vegetarian/vegan lunch boxes together with the team!”

What the future holds?

We will be holding some FB live sessions, and talks/ webinars to enhance each team member’s branding and visibility.

In the coming weeks we will also continue to expand our team by finding the right people to fill in the missing products and services that can better augment the value we offer alongside more CSR initiatives to come.
